  • Cosleeping To Toddler Bed…Or Not
This is a part two if you will. If you remember last April… we decided to move Sawyer out of the bedroom and into his crib in his own room upstairs. To say this decision was the best does not even begin to describe it. Sawyer sleeps 12-14 hours a night and goes back and forth between 1-2 naps a day. It’s amazing. Best. Decision. Ever. However, Colt was just still in our bed until a month ago. I know, I know. I literally wrote in April 2022 that 2-3 weeks after getting Sawyer established, …

  • Tips To Help Manage Chronic Pain
Chronic Pain is defined by the Cleveland Clinic as pain that last months or years and happens in all parts of the body. It interferes with daily life and can lead to depression and anxiety. It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone with chronic pain that depression and anxiety get thrown into the mix. On top of literally having pain all the time, there’s now mental health issues to top it all off. Getting diagnosed with with chronic pain due to any number of conditions is a rollercoaster in of itself. As I’m sure …
  • 7 Tips For Improving Your Mental Health
    1. Make Time For Yourself Taking time out for yourself is one both one of the most obvious as well as one of the most complicated ways to improve your mental health. As a society, we are such a go, go, go culture that slowing down and taking time for you is hard. Try taking a break after work or after a project around the house – sit and enjoy a cup of tea or a few minutes of quiet. If you need, literally add a time on your calendar each day that specifically says …

  • A Very Local Christmas
A Very Local Christmas – Central Pennsylvania Edition I sincerely apologize for posting this on the 15th of December. Unfortunately between being sick and just other health issues, I’ve been working on this post but haven’t yet published until now 😞 I did not get to include all the businesses I wanted to, so stay tuned for another post in the near future to showcase other local businesses 😊 Please support the local businesses mentioned even if it’s getting a gift card or even sharing posts. They are all great small businesses! The ease and …
  • A Very Thrifted Christmas
Buying second hand offers endless possibilities for gifts. You never know what you’ll find! I’d love to challenge everyone to buy or give at least one thrifted/secondhand gift this season. Gifting previously loved items can breathe new life into an item as cliche as that sounds. What one person may be sick of, becomes something that another dreamed of. It can be difficult wanting to give the latest and greatest gift but not having or wanting to spend the accompanying budget. Did you know that you can find items that still have their tags on …
  • Hysterectomy Recovery
My hysterectomy was 8 weeks ago and I’m happy to report I’m feeling well! I had my post operation appointments 2 weeks ago with both surgeons. I’ve been cleared by my doctors to resume normal activities and can begin exercising again etc. I do have some minor issues going on but nothing that is preventing me from doing what I want/need. I ended up getting my appendix removed during my hysterectomy which I knew ahead of time was a possibility. There was endometriosis and fibroids on my appendix so they removed it along with my …
  • Why I’m Having A Hysterectomy
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had pelvic pain and horrendous menstrual cycles. Even at young age, the go to was to be on birth control pills to try to lessen the severity of my periods. Newsflash – it didn’t work! It was a band-aid fix, if that. From ruptured ovarian cysts in Afghanistan to laparoscopic surgery to remove free fluid in my belly, it has been an uphill and painful journey. I’ve been on various forms of birth control over the years in effort to skip or minimize periods. Some of them …
  • 5 Things To Keep You Busy During Middle of the Night Feedings
Night Feedings can feel long and exhausting. You want to get baby fed and get back to bed and that holds true whether you are nursing or bottle feeding. Here’s a few ideas to keep you busy and keep you awake. 1. Read- I bring either my kindle or phone with me up to Sawyers room and will read while I’m nursing to pass the time. 2. Listen to music, an audiobook or a podcast- Listening to an audiobook, music or podcast is great if you don’t have a free hand because of bottle feeding …
  • 5 Underrated Television Shows
There’s a lot of hype these days on various television shows whether it be on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney+ or another streaming service, or even just regular cable. With the amount of shows released all the time, it’s easy to miss or skip over some hidden gems. I wanted to highlight a few shows that I really enjoyed that I didn’t hear much about and came upon by chance or by word of mouth by someone I know. The 4400 available on Netflix (not the new one that’s currently on TV – I haven’t …
